What is JSA ( Job Safety Analysis) ? - MindCare

In any work area, when a task is started, a process of job safety analysis is done in which we find safety as well as we identify some hazard. In this, safety is tested in every level of work, along with some hazard we see this whole process is also called job safety analysis or job hazard analysis.

Steps of JSA

Below are some steps that are used during job safety analysis.

1. Select the job to be analyzed

Work is selected in the first step of job safety analysis. That in which work we have to check safety and work safely there.

2. Breakdown the job in its sequence or step

The first work is stopped to perform job safety analysis and the entire
step is understood. The methods are then understood as to how safety
can be implemented here as well as how the hazard being identified can be removed from the work area.

3. Identify hazard for each step

The way in which safety is  identified in job safety analysis is the same way threats are identified through job hazard analysis. Methods of identifying and removing threats are used in the field of work.

4. Develop prevention methods

When we complete all the steps of the job safety analysis and use it in a work area. Then we use the methods of prevention the threats there. In this, we use some check list, some work permit are used as well as PPEs are used according to the work. These are some of the ways in which we complete the process of job safety analysis.
